Guru Pornima

The Civil Engineering Department of Ashokrao Mane Polytechnic Vathar Tarf Vadgaon celebrated Guru Purnima with great reverence and enthusiasm on 10/07/2025, paying homage to the invaluable role of teachers in shaping the minds and lives of students. The theme for this year’s celebration was “Gurukul Education System of Ancient India”, which emphasized the timeless bond between a Guru (teacher) and Shishya (student). Students of the Civil Engineering Department presented a skit depicting the life and learning in an ancient Gurukul, highlighting how education in ancient times focused on holistic development – physical, mental, and spiritual. The skit was followed by a speech on the relevance of the Gurukul system in modern education, drawing parallels with current educational practices and the values of discipline, service, and dedication. Faculty members shared their thoughts on the significance of Guru Purnima and their experiences as educators, emphasizing the mutual respect and dedication that form the foundation of effective learning.  A special felicitation ceremony was organized where students honored their teachers by offering flowers and handmade cards as tokens of gratitude. The celebration concluded with a group rendition of the “Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu” mantra, reinforcing the sacredness of the teacher-student relationship. The Guru Purnima celebration was a memorable and soul-enriching event, serving as a reminder of the noble values and teaching traditions of ancient India that continue to inspire the academic spirit in modern times.
